Family Pickle Recipes Passed Down Through Generations

At I’ve Been Pickled, we base everything on family pickle recipes passed down through generations. During the emotional process of clearing out our family home, we discovered many cherished recipes. This meaningful experience connected us to our family’s past and traditions.

Honoring Family Connections Passed Down Through Generations

We believe the best-tasting recipes are passed from generation to generation. These hand-me-down creations offer a unique flavour that mass-produced goods can’t match. That’s why we proudly share these family treasures with you. Each jar of pickles, sauces, and preserves holds more than just a product—it carries history. Every bite brings memories of family gatherings, hearty meals, and the warmth of home. We name each jar after the family member or friend who supplied the recipe. Some jars honor those with special connections to our whanau (family). This personal touch makes every product a tribute to those who shaped our culinary journey.

Balancing Tradition with Modern Tastes

While we cherish tradition, we understand that food evolves. Modern palates crave different tastes and textures, so we adapt old recipes carefully. However, we always keep the original flavour’s essence. This balance of tradition and innovation offers you products that feel both nostalgic and modern.

Join Us at Local Christchurch Markets

You can taste and explore our products at local Christchurch markets. We offer tastings at the Christchurch Farmers Market every Saturday from 9 am to 12 pm. We also attend the Riccarton Sunday Market from 9 am to 2 pm and the Ferrymead Night Market. These events let you experience our flavours firsthand and learn about the stories behind each recipe.

At I’ve Been Pickled, we invite you to savour our family’s culinary legacy. Every jar is crafted with love, care, and respect for the generations before us. We are excited to share these flavours with you.
